Kate Range was admitted as a solicitor in 1997 and spent a number of years with national law firm Russell Jones and Walker, as a solicitor in their Business Crime Unit where she was involved in defending a wide range of regulatory matters from high profile cases through to representing rank and file police officers in disciplinary and criminal proceedings.

Before joining OAH, Kate spent two years with Hill Dickinson in their regulatory team conducting health and safety and environmental cases, from both the prosecution and defence side. She also acted as Solicitor Agent in matters brought by a variety of bodies, such as the DTI, the Post Office, the Security Industry Authority and Defra. Kate has particular expertise in prosecutions brought under the Water Industries Act.

Health and safety cases which Kate has been involved in have included fatal accidents, falls from height, excavations without trench support, exposure to hazardous substances, forklift truck accidents and guarding of machinery.
