Defence Witness Interviews
Following changes to the Criminal Procedure Rules, ahead of any trial a Defendant is now required to provide the Prosecution with details of the witnesses which the Defence intend to call. The authorities are entitled to seek an interview with such defence witnesses.
It is natural for witnesses to be apprehensive about questioning ahead of giving their evidence at trial, or require advice as to their rights and obligations in what is still a very new process.
